7.3 Calibration Data: K-Factors

7.2 Bi-Directional Flow

• The 2551 magmeter is designed to measure bi-directional  ow.

• The forward  ow direction is indicated by the directional arrow molded into the side of the 2551 sensor.

• The conduit ports are assembled at the factory to point UPSTREAM. They may be reversed by

disassembling the components of the magmeter and reassembling.

Flow Rate Display: The "+" sign is suppressed during forward  ow.

"-123.45 GPM" during reverse  ow.

Totalizer Display: The totalizer will count during forward  ow conditions only.

During reverse  ow the totalizer will not increment.

Relay Outputs: May be set to detect reverse  ow: "Low Setpoint at -25 GPM."

4 to 20 mA output: May be scaled to span any  ow range:

For example: "4 to 20 mA = -100 GPM to +100 GPM"

Frequency output, Frequency ÷ 10 output: Reverse  ow is processed same as forward  ow in the frequency output magmeters.

Digital (S

L) output: Reverse  ow results in 0  ow rate output.
